Hou Yi stepped forward, determined to save his people. With his trusty bow, he shot down nine suns one by one, leaving only one to light the world. The villagers cheered, grateful for their hero's bravery.

Hou Yi fell in love with a kind-hearted maiden named Chang'e. They married and lived happily ever after. But alas, a jealous man tried to steal the elixir of immortality that Chang'e had been entrusted with. To protect it, she drank it all, ascending to the moon forever.
